Our Deaf Adoption Journey

January 3, 2011

Thursday we had our physicals. So far it looks like we’ve passed. We’re still waiting on results from the blood tests and TB tests. I feel overexposed. (Yes, I realize that’s a bit funny to say in a blog!)

I knew going in to this that there would be quite a bit of paperwork. It’s really not that big of a deal. What is difficult, however, is asking people to fill out paperwork with such stringent requirements when they don’t have to. Our poor family practice is dealing with a ton of paperwork and letters just for our adoption. They’ve (Munson Family Practice) been awesome. I’ve also had to ask for a pretty specific letter from my HR department and we’ve had to take advantage of our bank for notary services (Fifth Third – free of charge so far).

I guess this is all good practice for when I have to start begging people for money!!! 🙂
